Polaris Networks’ TCA Test Tools

Polaris TCA Tester — only test tool used by CP-TA for compliance and certification testing.

Polaris Networks’ complete set of automated Conformance Test Suites cover ATCA, MicroTCA and AMC technologies. These have been built after close consultation with CP-TA and conform to CP-TA’s published certification and interop requirements. All of Polaris Networks’ test cases are carefully constructed with mapping to specific PICMG requirements and provide unambiguous results. Test results pertaining to “shall”, “should’ and “may” requirements are indicated with different labels, “error”, “warning” and “info”.

All the testers help increase interoperability of buildingblocks and decrease development & integration time for Telecom equipment manufacturers, board-level product manufacturers and system integrators.

The Windows-based MicroTCA Tester is designed for testing hardware-management software implementation in MicroTCA-based building blocks or systems.

The Windows-based AMC Tester helps test the compatibility of Module Management Controllers and Carrier Manager with respect to AMC system management requirements, independently or simultaneously.

The Linux-based ATCA Tester used to test the compatibility of an AdvancedTCA® or AdvancedMC™ building block with respect to hardware platform management requirements of the PICMG 3.0 or AMC.0 specification. The tools included are:

  • FRU/ SDR/ E-Keying Dump
  • SEL watcher
  • IPMI pinger
  • IPMI command
  • ATCAMON

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Each test case maps to one PICMG specification requirement. A complete Decode of packets sent or received during a test run is available.
  • Test scripts are available in source code form and therefore are Fully Editable. New tests may be developed by user.
  • Test execution can be controlled on the occasion of an Error, Warning or Information event. Test reports are generated in HTML format with target Device information.
  • Tests may be repeated for a desired number of iterations. Test environment may be saved for post-test analysis. Tests may be scheduled for future execution.
