New Schroff Die Cast Base Reduces Assembly Time, Strengthens Front Panels

The new Schroff® die cast zinc base assembly for sheet metal panels integrates the alignment pin and thumbscrew, eliminating the need for secondary operations during the manufacturing process while strengthening a traditionally weak area of stainless steel sheet metal front panels.

A new ergonomically designed, spring loaded Schroff IEA-R handle is compatible with the die cast base and features a robust die cast metal latch for added durability.

To improve the efficiency of PCB and front panel assembly operations, the bushing block, spring and handle are held together in their final assembled position with a transporter device.  After the handle has been installed, transporter device can be easily removed and discarded.  This pre-assembled design approach simplifies handle assembly and reduces overall assembly time.

This integrated die cast base and handle offers customization features that include placement of serial numbers, logos or board identification labels.

The Schroff panel assembly conforms to the PICMG 3.0 R2 specification, and is constructed with environmentally friendly materials for full RoHS compliance.
