Panther 760 and 380 MicroTCA DC Power Module

The Panther 760 and 380 power modules (PM) are Full- Size Single-Width form factor and fully enclosed for electrical protection. The design is based on state of the art FPGA and advanced technologies for energy management and remote monitoring, diagnostics, software updating and reconfiguration.

Payload power channels can be individually programmed current limits with load specific values. This enables improved MTBFs of the power system, more tightly managed power budgeting and the ability to determine an accurate history power consumption of each component of the system.

Hot swappable and fully redundant operation coupled with extremely high efficiency and wide temperature range operation make Panther power modules ideally suited for all air cooled MicroTCA™ applications.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

  • Panther on-board microprocessor provides an Enhanced Module Management Controller (EMCC) per MicroTCA spec for hardware platform management interface to MCH and control of the power module.
  • Panther PM FPGA handles system critical functions such as current limiting or channel failover control independently from an on-board microprocessor giving the system a robust redundant capability.
  • Single-board design with digitized payload channel voltage and current allows the Panther to be the most cost effective, best thermal performance, and highly accurate MicroTCA power solution in the market.
  • Panther PM implements JTAG diagnostics and is software or firmware (VHDL) upgradable from the front panel JTAG port. The JTAG signals are buffered to insure good signal integrity and fault free operation.
  • Front panel USB port monitors Panther PM boot sequence and IPMI messaging. In addition, system designers can use the included MicroBlade Dashboard (Excel application) via the USB port to see the full details of operation status of the PM.
