The success of today’s ASIC and SoC projects depends to a large degree on the verification methodologies used. Because of the increase in design complexity and large amounts of embedded software, the use of hardware-assisted verification has become mandatory for most projects. Traditional hardware-assisted verification methods like emulation and simulation acceleration however, are no longer sufficient and have to be complemented by FPGA-based, rapid prototyping; only rapid prototyping is able to deliver the required performance for system validation and productive software development.
