Intel® Skylake Based Open Pluggable Specification Compliant Digital Signage Players: Full Support for 4K UHD Video Playback

OPS-2002 / 2050 Full Support For 4K UHD

Quanmax is pleased to introduce OPS-2002 and OPS-2050 Series: 2 new models of OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) compliant digital signage players with full support for 4K Ultra HD multimedia playback.

Transfer Rate and Display Refresh Rate

4K Ultra HD

Both OPS-2002 and OPS-2050 Series are powered by 6th Generation Intel® Skylake Core™ i processors with higher-performance GPU integrated inside. Thus, each OPS player is more than capable of driving 4K Ultra HD video playback from the view of their processing and graphics performance. The difference is that the former is integrated with an U-Series ultra-low-power processor while the later is powered by a HQ-Series high-performance-graphics quad-core processor for heavy usage.

In addition, they are equipped with next-generation data transfer interfaces, including DDR4 SO-DIMM memory sockets for providing more bandwidth to data-heavy 4K content to eliminate laggy playback, and HDMI 2.0 video output interface for delivering 4K video output at a smooth fast 60 frames per second. (The rate of 4K is limited to 24 frames per second in HDMI 1.4.) The three features mentioned above can create more lifelike viewing experience to grab customers’ attention and drive sales effortlessly.

Easy to Deploy, Install, Use, Maintain and Upgrade

OPS Slot Mount

Built based on Intel® Open Pluggable Specification, both OPS digital signage players have standardized electrical, mechanical and thermal design for any OPS-complaint display. This feature allows digital signage system integrators / network operators to faster deploy systems in higher volumes at lower cost. In addition, the interchangeable modular and cableless plug-in design simplifies the device installation, usage, maintenance and upgrade by simply plugging or replacing a pluggable player, instead of an entire display unit as well as a web of complicated cables.

Remote Management Possible

OPS Remote Management

Remote management is a critical issue especially for large-scale area-wide digital signage deployment, for example, within a mall, a chain, a corporate, a city, a country or even multiple countries. That allows administrators to create, schedule and publish the contents or maintain, repair and update the software from a remote location, which can reduce the need for costly human on-site support. In addition to 2 GbE LAN ports, both OPS-2002 and OPS-2050 Series reserves mPCIe and/or M.2 slots for Wi-Fi / 3G / 4G wireless networking connection.

Users can optionally choose an appropriate wireless communication module depending on local network infrastructure to make their players connected.
