Valencell to Showcase Accuracy and Innovation in Biometric Wearables and Hearables at CES® 2017

Valencell brings highly accurate, comprehensive biometric systems to make biometrics work across multiple form factors, use cases, and industries

Valencell, the leading innovator in wearable and hearable biometric sensor technology, today announced its lineup of booth highlights and speaking sessions at CES® 2017, taking place January 5-8, 2017 in Las Vegas. Valencell’s participation in CES will follow a successful year of record growth for the company, in terms of technology proliferation, granted patents and new products introduced to the market.

The Valencell CES booth (Tech West, Sands Expo, Level 2, booth #44330) will demonstrate Valencell products, technology and its future roadmap, and will showcase Valencell’s global customer base and industry leadership in delivering highly accurate biometric sensor systems for wearables of any form factor and for any use case.

Valencell’s PerformTek® sensor systems provide accurate, robust and flexible technology, powering more biometric hearables and wearables on the market than any other company in the world. Ten new Valencell-powered products came to market in 2016, all of which will be on display in the Valencell CES booth, including Bose SoundSport Pulse, Jabra Elite Sport, Jabra Sport Pulse Special Edition, the FIIL Carat Pro, among others. The booth will also feature Valencell’s Benchmark™ Sensor Systems, as well as demonstrations of Valencell’s technology integrated into fitness, medical/healthcare and biometric gaming applications.

“This was an exciting year for Valencell and for biometric wearables and hearables in general, with accuracy and innovation driving the launch of new biometric products across a variety of form factors and use cases,” said Dr. Steven LeBoeuf, President of Valencell. “The combination of Valencell’s team, experience, technology and IP enable it to deliver the most accurate biometric sensor systems in the world for consumer electronics, wearables, hearables, and even medical devices. With Valencell, you know that it is just going to work.”

In addition, two of Valencell’s executives, president and co-founder Dr. Steven LeBoeuf, and Chris Eschbach, Ph.D., HFS, CSCS, Director of Valencell’s Biometrics Laboratory, will be featured speakers at CES 2017.

Dr. LeBoeuf will participate in the CES main stage panel session, Personal Health Monitoring, which will discuss how biometric data from wearables is being used and what will drive the future growth of wearables. The panel takes place January 5, 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. at the Venetian, Level 4, Marcello 4501.

Dr. LeBoeuf will also participate in the panel session, Hearables – Wireless Earbuds, which will discuss data insight, the importance of accuracy, and the growing popularity of hearables in biometric wearables for fitness. The panel, part of the part of the FitnessTech Summit at CES, takes place Thursday, January 5 at 1:15 – 1:55 p.m. at the Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4303.

Dr. Eschbach will discuss biometric wearable technology for fitness and health in a panel session entitled, Fitness at any Age, which will discuss how smart tech can help increase health benefits at every age. The session, part of the part of the FitnessTech Summit at CES, is on Thursday, January 5, at 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. as Venetian, Level 4, Lando 4303.

In 2016, Valencell saw a record year of growth with its PerformTek biometric sensor technology, with a 360 percent increase in companies using Valencell technology over 2015. With 39 patents granted, plus more than 90 additional patents pending, Valencell continues to see global demand for highly accurate biometric sensor technology with significant growth in wearables and hearables for fitness and healthcare applications.

In the past year, Valencell was also honored with a Consumer Technology Association 2016 Innovation Entrepreneur Award for Small Business of the Year for leadership in advancing biometric sensor technology for wearables and hearable devices.

Valencell’s PerformTek sensor systems provide accurate, robust and flexible technology, powering more biometric hearables and wearables on the market than any other company, at the ear, arm, and wrist. The technology gives wearable devices the ability to continuously and accurately measure blood flow signals, even during extreme physical activity or when the optical signals are weak. These signals can be translated into biometric data, including continuous heart rate, VO2 and VO2 max, resting heart rate, heart rate response, heart rate recovery, continuous energy expenditure (calorie burn), cardiac efficiency and heart rate variability assessments.

Valencell provides its biometric sensor technology through it Benchmark sensor system, a turnkey biometric sensor system with the complete PerformTek technology package ready for immediate integration into wearable and hearable devices. Valencell also offers product licensing and patent licensing, to enable customers to create custom-designed biometric hearable and wearable devices.

The accuracy of Valencell’s PerformTek technology has been independently validated by numerous research institutions, including Duke University, NC State University, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Valencell’s PerformTek technology is the choice of popular consumer electronics brands, including Bose, Sony, LG, Intel/SMS Audio, Jabra, and Scosche, among numerous others. To learn more about acquiring Valencell technology, visit valencell.com/access.
