Acoustic Technologies’ SoundClear solution was chosen by Texas Instruments to provide clear, crisp, full-duplex audio with enhanced echo cancellation and noise reduction for the new Hands-Free Kit Reference Design. The complete small form factor reference design simplifies system design of hands-free cellular phone kits for automobiles and provides original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) all the necessary hardware and software for creating unique Bluetooth and audio streaming- enabled, high-quality products. The solution also utilizes software from Adamya Computing Technologies to enable Bluetooth communication allowing simultaneous audio and data streaming.
Featuring a TI DSP- based platform, the new reference design eliminates the need to further design any core hardware or car audio software modules, thus saving OEMs cost and up to nine months in development time. Spurred by bans on holding a cellular phone while driving in multiple U.S. states, European nations and other countries worldwide, HFK technology is not only a growing necessity for drivers, but also for developers that need to meet this demand by providing sound quality products that meet specific consumer expectations. As a result, it is increasingly important to have integrated hands-free platforms in order to keep from reinventing fundamental technology.
“SoundClear software is key to providing high-quality hands-free audio for automotive and aftermarket products,” said Jim Jacot, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Acoustic Technologies. “We are pleased to work with Texas Instruments to deliver an industry leading reference design offering incredible savings in time and money for developers of hands-free products.”
The SoundClear processing optimizes speech intelligibility with full-duplex control that adaptively monitors, detects and processes incoming voice, echo and noise signal power levels. With the RAPID tuning tool, vendors can quickly and easily tune their products for optimal audio performance adjusting for the varying mechanical and acoustical properties of the handset. The SoundClear solution is proven in millions of products around the globe.
