Microsoft Windows Embedded and Partners Drive the Biggest Showing Ever at COMPUTEX
Taipei, May 18, 2009 — Microsoft today announced that its showcase at 2009 COMPUTEX TAIPEI, one of the world’s largest technology industry events, will be its biggest ever with an increase of participating partners and demonstrated devices at Microsoft’s booth, a robust show of support from the industry. Among them will be a record number of 18 Windows Embedded partners. These partners will unveil breakthrough smart, connected, service-oriented devices built on the latest Windows Embedded platforms and technologies in line with Microsoft’s theme of “Windows Makes Life Simpler”.
The range of enterprise and consumer devices will showcase various Windows Embedded operating systems, technologies and services, which fulfill the different development needs of embedded device manufacturers. Highlights in the booth will include new Windows Embedded POSReady 2009-powered POS machines for the retail industry and new applications for smart, connected, service-oriented devices built on Windows Embedded CE and Windows Embedded Standard, such as kiosks for public transportation, industrial handheld devices, fitness equipment and connected digital picture frames.

In addition to product demonstration and exhibits at the Microsoft booth (Booth No. L108 at Nangang Exhibition Hall), Microsoft will host its first forum at this year’s COMPUTEX. The keynote titled “Windows Makes Life Simpler” will be delivered by Steven Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Division, and Kevin Dallas, General Manager, Windows Embedded Business.
