Paralle Application from Rapid Simulation (PARS)
Supported TI Processors: DM644x, C67x, C645x, C6414T/15T/16T, C62x
The PARS enabling technology helps developers to focus on their application development at the model level using Simulink® while PARS builds the entire application comprising codes for all DSPs and FPGAs in the system with all communication codes between tasks and processing hardware (DSPs and FPGAs) with built in technology for synchronization and deadlock avoidance.
With PARS you can develop a multi-tasking application where tasks can easily be assigned from DSPs to FPGAs and vice versa at build time. The application contains all the code for booting the entire network of DSPs and FPGAs from a single application file.
PARS is being used for developing many major applications like the US Army’s third generation Counter fire radar simulators.
Applications developed with PARS can be used for Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testing and PARS generates a Testbench that can be loaded into target hardware from Simulink® and be able to communicate with a model running on the host and thus making powerful devices like oscilloscope and graphical interfaces available to the embedded application. The Pars generated application file can be used for embedded applications where there is no host and loaded from FLASH or other suitable devices.
Special software interfacing the developed application to virtual devices offered by Labview® from National Instruments is also available.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- hide complexities of application developments by using model-based design tool
- PARS removes the need to learn different development tools for each type of DSP and FPGA in the system.
- automatic booting of the entire hardware system from a single application file.
- built in inter-processor and task communication using well proven protocols.
- no need to write a single line of C or VHDL code to develop a complex appication.

TECHNICAL SPECS
- A hardware system may comprise any TI DSP from the TMS320C67xx, C64xx and any Xilinx Virtex II-Pro, Virtex-4, and 5.
- ADC, DAC and IO modules are supported in the model by using pre-built tasks.
APPLICATION AREAS
