Virtex®-6 and Spartan®-6 FPGAs provide the programmable foundation for Xilinx® Base-level, Domain-specific, and Market-specific Targeted Design Platforms that enable designers to accelerate innovation and improve differentiation across a wide range of markets and applications.
These new FPGAs can be used by designers as co-processors to Texas Instruments digital signal processors (DSPs) to accelerate the performance and extend the interface options of their video and signal processing systems. They deliver twice the capacity at half the power consumption of their predecessors and are available today as part of the Xilinx Base Targeted Design Platform that enables designers to reduce development time by 50 percent.
Virtex-6 FPGAs are optimized for high-performance, compute-intensive applications and deliver over 1000 GMACs of DSP processing acceleration and 1 Tbps of serial bandwidth, while Spartan-6 FPGAs offer an optimal balance of cost, power, serial bandwidth and performance. Designers can immediately begin developing with Virtex-6 FPGA and Spartan-6 FPGA Evaluation Kits that provide all elements needed to design right out of the box.
