Six huge Virtex-6 FPGAs power new Dini Group logic prototyping board

Dini Group introduces the DNV6F6PCIe featuring six Xilinx, Virtex-6 FPGAs.  This complete logic prototyping system can emulate up to 24 million ASIC gates at clock speeds to 700 MHz.  The board is hosted in a 4-lane PCIe slot and can also be used stand alone.  PCIe, USB, Gigabit Ethernet, SATA II, and other interfaces are controlled by an on-board Marvel dual core processor which provides unmatched user utility for data movement.  All FPGA resources are dedicated to the user’s application.

With six massive Virtex-6 FPGAs, four DDR3 SODIMM memory sockets, on board dual Sheeva® ARM processors, and an independent configuration FPGA, this board will provide real time speeds to ASIC prototypers and IP developers.  “This is the most versatile prototyping platform we have ever offered; it will also serve DSP acceleration and HPC applications,” says Mike Dini, President of Dini Group. “When stuffed with V-6 SX475Ts, this board will have 12,096 25×18 multipliers and 21 million ASIC gates.”

On-board MEG-Array expansion connectors facilitate use of the many Dini Group standard daughter cards and accommodate custom cards easily.  Complete specifications may be found at: http://www.dinigroup.com/index.php?code=pr0001

Established in 1995 as a consulting company developing ASICs for various clients, Dini Group saw the need for cost effective logic emulation platforms and developed several of them.  In 1998 they started selling these platforms to ASIC prototypers, FPGA developers, and IP designers.  They now provide logic emulation systems with the latest technologies, the fastest speed, and the largest programmable devices.  Since 1998 they have helped drive the cost of an ASIC gate from more than one dollar, to less than 1/4 cent.  From their offices in La Jolla, Dini Group employees have supplied over five billion ASIC gates.
