Middleton, WI – December 14th, 2010 – Since the announcement of the Intel® Core™ i7 processor by Intel on January 5, 2010, Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. (X-ES) has developed and delivered nine embedded computing products based on the Intel Core i7 processor and the Intel QM57 chipset. X-ES is committed to supporting the Intel Core i7 embedded processor across its entire line of form factors, including 3U and 6U VPX, 3U and 6U CompactPCI, VME, XMC, and 3U CompactPCI Express, with support for the Intel Core i7-610E, i7-620LE, and i7-620UE processors.

All X-ES Intel Core i7 processor-based products delivered in 2010 have the following features:

  • 32 GB NAND flash drive
  • PCI Express system interconnect

All 3U form factor products delivered in 2010 support 8 GB DDR3-1066 ECC SDRAM in two channels and have a single XMC/PrPMC/PMC site. The 3U form factor products are:

All XMC form factor products delivered in 2010 support 8 GB DDR3-1066 ECC SDRAM in two channels and one x8 or two x4 PCI Express links to the XMC connector. The XMC form factor products are:

The XPedite7302 includes the functionality of the XPedite7301 with the addition of SecureCOTS™. With its SecureCOTS capabilities, the XPedite7302 can provide data encryption and decryption and enables developers to address a program’s protection requirements. SecureCOTS includes functionality that X-ES’s customers can utilize to develop secure computing and anti-tamper capabilities for their customers.

Operating system support provided by X-ES for the Intel Core i7 processor-based products includes Green Hills INTEGRITY™ Board Support Packages (BSPs), Wind River VxWorks™ BSPs, and Linux BSPs. To satisfy the range of applications from telecommunications to military, the VPX, VME, CompactPCI, and XMC form factor products are engineered to scale from commercial, air-cooled (0 to 55ºC) to rugged, conduction-cooled (-40 to +85ºC) versions with appropriate environmental test methods. The CompactPCI Express products are available only in air-cooled, commercial (0 to 55ºC) versions.
