DFI ATX Motherboard Based on Intel® C226 Chipset Supports Multiple PCIe Configurations for High Computing Workstation

DFI, a leading provider of embedded computers, brings the Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 v3 series to the DL631-C226 ATX embedded motherboard. It is DFI’s first ATX board that supports the new Intel® C226 Express Chipset. This ATX motherboard comes with LGA 1150 socket for the Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 v3 series built on 22-nanometer process technology that delivers up to 5~15% CPU performance increase over the previous generations. These processors offer higher computing performance at more cost-effective and energy-efficient power consumption.

The integrated next-generation Intel® HD Graphics engine supports HDMI and DVI-I displays with HD transcode performance increase. DVI-I graphics interface can simultaneously display high definition images up to 1920×1200 at 60Hz resolution and HDMI interface can support up to 4096×2304 at 24Hz resolution or 2560×1600 at 60Hz resolution. VGA displays up to 1920×1200 pixels with 24-bit color at 60Hz resolution. The Intel® Clear Video Technology provides advanced imaging capabilities for Blu-Ray and other high definition video processing such as image stabilization, gamut mapping and frame rate conversion. This new ATX motherboard is designed with dual channel DDR3/DDR3L 1333/1600MHz DIMM memory interface supporting up to 32GB system memory for faster communication between components. It also supports 5.1-channel High Definition Audio with S/PDIF audio interface and 2 Intel® Gigabit LAN controllers with increased transmission speed for network-intensive applications.

This new workstation platform offers a cost saving solution through better manageability and improved security with a new version of Intel® Active Management Technology 9.0 which enables you to better manage and secure your computers with client isolation, network filtering, security agents and anti-virus protection. Performance is further increased through the introduction of DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) to the instruction set, providing acceleration of complex audio, video, and image processing.

Not only does this ATX motherboard run faster, it also offers higher performance and power with improved I/O via the Intel® C226 Express Chipset. The 4 USB 3.0 ports allow your system to process more data load. The workstation platform also provides 6 USB 2.0 ports, 6 SATA 3.0 ports with data transfer rate up to 6Gb/s for RAID 0/1/5/10, 8-bit Digital I/O connector for device controls, 1 LPC connector and 6 Serial COM ports with hardware auto flow control to fulfill the demand of industrial applications.

The expansion design of this new workstation platform offers additional capabilities via various PCIe and PCI configurations, including 2 PCIe x16 interfaces (PCIe 3.0, 1 x16 signal or 2 x8 signal) for high performance graphics displays, 2 PCIe x4 interfaces (PCIe 2.0, 1 x4 signal and 1 x1 signal) for RAID controller cards, and 3 PCI interfaces (PCI 2.3).

The high computing ATX motherboard provides multiple expansion capabilities. It allows installing a high performance graphics card via PCIe x16, 3 capture cards or LAN cards via PCIe x4/x1 for connecting industrial cameras, and 3 motion controller card or I/O card via PCI for installing VFD or server devices. All these make the DL631-C226 suitable for machine vision inspection application. Based on these features described above, DL631-C226 is an ideal workstation platform for driving innovation in variety of embedded market segments such as retail, medical, MAG, DSS, and industrial manufacturing.
