This 3U OpenVPX system is a complete test environment platform intended to support OpenVPX application development efforts for systems in compliance with the hardware and software convergence initiatives of the Department of Defense. CMOSS refers to C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards identified as part of the initiative. Streamline your timeline and reduce development costs for faster time to deployment in mission critical systems. At the heart of the system is Elma’s 12 slot CMOSS backplane which includes 12 payload and 2 power supply slots. The backplane supports HOST and SOSA compliant VPX slot profiles as developed in conjunction with CERDEC (the Army Communications, Electronics, Research, Development and Engineering Center), the ONR (Office of Naval Research) and AFRL (the Air Force Research Lab). It enables high speed RF and optical I/O connectivity with slot profiles which include VITA 67 and VITA 66 modular backplane connectors. The platform includes an optional set of OpenVPX computing, networking and network timing modules to help you get a head start on application development activities. As an invaluable development tool, the CMOSS platform enables designers to identify the specific backplane slot profile combinations needed for the end application. Designers may then work with Elma engineers to layout and produce the deployment backplanes.
