Express Logic’s ThreadX RTOS Ranks High

San Diego, CA, June 28, 2006 – Special To MIPS Developers – Express Logic,
Inc., the leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), with over 300 million
deployments, has scored near the top in a recent survey of embedded developers. The
survey, conducted by CMP, asked Embedded Systems Conference attendees, and readers of EE
Times and Embedded Systems Design magazines, which RTOS they currently used. The results,
from developers using MIPS architectures, show that Express Logic’s ThreadX RTOS ranks
second only to Wind River’s VxWorks among hard real-time RTOSes. Other than VxWorks, only
Microsoft’s Windows, and TI’s DSP/BIOS rank above ThreadX.

“These are outstanding results,” commented John Carbone, VP, Marketing for Express
Logic. “This shows the tremendous acceptance of ThreadX among MIPS developers. We believe
these results indicate a preference for the high performance, small footprint, and
ease-of-use of ThreadX for the MIPS 4k, 24k, and the new 34k architectures.”

Express Logic’s ThreadX RTOS supports the full range of MIPS32 and MIPS64 processors,
including the new Multithreading MIPS 34k. MIPS developers use ThreadX in digital consumer
product SoCs, STBs, Storage Systems, and Image Analysis systems, as well as a range of
other applications.

ThreadX is a full source code product, and is sold with a royalty-free license ideal
for high-volume manufacturers looking to reduce overall manufacturing cost. ThreadX can
be used with a wide choice of development tools, unlike other RTOSes that require the use
of specific tools. ThreadX is supported in MIPS’ SDE development tools, GNU, Wind River
Workbench™, and Green Hills’ MULTI®.
