2009 represents a year of change for Lauterbach. In the New Year

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, January 2009-2009 represents a year of change for Lauterbach. In the New Year, Lauterbach celebrates its 30th anniversary, adopts a new company logo, and moves its German headquarters to brand new premises in the ARCONE Technology Center in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, near Munich.

In 1979, Lothar Lauterbach, founder and Managing Director, laid the foundations of the company with the development of the TRACE80 debugger – a Z80 debugger that ran on the CP/M operating system. In 1982, he was joined by his brother, Stephan Lauterbach, and the two brothers have run the company together ever since. At the same time, the first real TRACE80 in-circuit emulator for the Z80 was also developed. In 1994, the development of the first BDM debugger for the Motorola 68332 was important in paving the way for the company’s success today. It marked the birth of the TRACE32 ICD in-circuit debugger. Debuggers for other microcontrollers soon followed and, by 2001, the number of systems delivered passed the ten-thousand mark; by 2004, this figure had risen to more than 25,000. In 1995, Lauterbach opened one of its first branch offices in the United States, followed by subsidiaries in the UK, Japan, China, Italy, and France. But continuous growth needs space – in 2006, the go-ahead was finally given for the construction of the ARCONE Technology Center in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, with an area of 12,800m2. The new premises, which will be occupied as of January 1, 2009, offer space for more than one company; Lauterbach will take up a third of the overall area. “For the time being, absolutely nothing can prevent our further growth and we can operate entirely from under one roof. We are proud of our spacious training facilities, with seating capacity for up to 150 people”, says Lothar Lauterbach, Managing Director.

Lauterbach has been the leading manufacturer of development tools for over 30 years and combines solid growth with strong innovation and know-how. The new building creates enormous potential for new jobs and expansion in all areas.

With its famous slogan, “Leading through Technology”, and a new company logo, Lauterbach, a long-established and, at the same time, highly innovative company, underpins its standing as a global force in the field of embedded design.

A success story that spans three decades but has by no means reached its end. http://www.lauterbach.com
