Questa® Codelink™ delivers source-level debug and trace for code executing on RTL processor models. Connecting to existing RTL models in read-only model, Questa Codelink has no impact on simulation results. Patent-pending technology transforms general purpose register info into a rich source-code software engineer’s environment. Isolate the cause of processor-driven test failures in a fraction of the time it takes using text files and waveforms.


Questa Codelink logs register state info during a run so you can debug post-simulation. There’s no need to rerun time-consuming batch runs in order to isolate the cause of failure. During simulation, Questa Codelink creates a software log-file which, in conjunction with a waveform log-file, can be replayed, delivering post-simulation interactive HW/SW debug. A lengthy batch simulation can be replayed in seconds, eliminating the need to re-simulate a failing test in order to debug it.


Just imagine. No more slogging through the EIS log file to debug a failing batch or regression run. Questa Codelink dramatically reduces the time it takes to isolate the cause of a failing DSM-driven simulation. For multi-core design, Questa Codelink simultaneously logs and displays multiple processors. Any mix of supported processors can be logged during a single simulation and displayed during replay. The Questa Codelink debugger presents source, memory, register, variable, and call stack windows for each core in the design. The user can choose tabbed, tiled, vertical, or horizontal window orientation.
