The MPEG4000XLP is a 4-channel MPEG-4 codec on a single PC/104-Plus module. The MPEG4000XLP provides a low power and high performance solution for capturing and compressing up to 4 concurrent video inputs to MPEG-4 standard. The MPEG4000XLP not only provides MPEG-4 compression but can also decompress and playback recordings from storage to display. Utilizing the 32-bit PCI architecture, the MPEG4000XLP allows high quality real-time video / audio capture and compression from (up to) 4 concurrent NTSC or PAL video sources while at the same time allowing the data stream to be stored to disk and provide a Preview screen for incoming video. The high performance MPEG-4 video data compression and reduced bus utilization allows up to four MPEG4000XLP cards to be fitted in a PC/104-Plus system to provide up to 16 concurrent video streams to disk or across a network.

The MPEG4000XLP also includes the ability to over-lay text information on both the preview and compressed data streams to display associated data or menu options.

The MPEG4000XLP is supported by a suite of drivers for Windows 2000/XP/XP-Embedded, Linux and QNX (other operating systems may be supported on request). AMP offers supporting SDKs for both video recording and video streaming to help customers accelerate their product development.
