Capitalizing on the benefits of the PCI bus and the compact form of its predecessor, CANpro/104 Opto, Connect Tech now offers a CAN controller solution for PC/104-Plus. CANpro/104-Plus Opto connects two controller area networks with a PC/104-Plus system using two stand-alone NXP SJA1000 CAN controllers. With 3kV optical isolation, users can feel confident that their control applications are protected from disruptions that can occur with exposure to harsh conditions or environments.
Robust CAN Interface
CANpro/104-Plus Opto features the SN65HVD251 CAN interface and provides secure implementation of a data-link layer resulting in faster, more robust communications. The data-link layer ensures that priority messages get transferred first. Contrary to traditional serial communications cards, CAN technology offers tremendous error detection and a confinement ability that significantly reduces the burden of the microcontroller, thus benefitting your applications.
Optical Isolation
Keeping in mind the critical nature of your applications, CANpro/104-Plus Opto was designed with 3kV optical isolation for each port. This optical isolation increases noise immunity, while protecting your data and system from electrical spikes that may potentially harm your embedded system.
Memory Mapping
CANpro/104-Plus Opto includes a memory mapped register set to free up your system’s valuable I/O space. This allows greater flexibility because your standard I/O ranges remain free for other devices.
8-bit GPIO
CANpro/104-Plus Opto provides further functionality for your system by including an additional 8-bit GPIO header. The GPIO header eliminates the need for a separate digital I/O board in your stack, providing you with cost and space savings.
