Low Power SoM-3354 System on Module

Designed and manufactured in the USA, the SoM-3354 is a Low Power System on Module (SoM) designed to plug into an EMAC carrier board that contains all the connectors and I/O required for a system. The recommended development / carrier board for the SoM-3354 is the SoM-200ES. A SoM is a small embedded module that contains the core of a microprocessor system.

SoM-3354M_highres_PRThe SoM-3354 is based on an industrial temperature, TI AM3354 ARM Cortex-A8 Processor with Neon Math Coprocessor 1 GHz system on module with 512MB DDR3 RAM, 4GB eMMC flash, up to 16GB eMMC flash (Minimum order quantity applies) and 16MB of serial data flash, which allows it to run the Linux Operating System. The SoM-3354 supports 16-bit LCD Controller, 2D/3D Accelerated Video up to 2048×2048 and 4-Wire Resistive Touch Controller. The module has 1x 10/100 BaseT Ethernet, 1x CAN port, 4x serial ports with RTS/CTS handshake, 3x USB 2.0 high speed ports, 22x GPIO 3.3V lines, 1x SDIO, 1x I2S audio port, 2x SPI ports with 4 slave selects, 2x timer/counters/PWM channels, and 2x I2C ports.

The SoM approach allows clients to develop a product using a commercial off the shelf (COTS) development / carrier board for the proof of concept or production units. If the product or project has specific dimensional, I/O or connector placement requirements, a semi-custom carrier board can be created in as little as a month. Using the SoM approach, product lifecycle concerns for the processor, memory and other SoM based components are minimized.
