• Available with a low-profile or a full-height face plate, it can fit in all PCI-Express rack-mounted servers. This new product version includes a thermal sensor to protect the card against over-heating conditions.
• With 4 T1/E1/J1 interfaces on 4 standard RJ45 connectors, this product provides the same connectivity as full-height products, avoiding the usage of NEBS-incompatible Y-cables.
• Multiple protocols, simultaneously activated on the same card, especially SS7 MTP2 (LSL, HSL), SAAL (including SSCOP and SSCF), ATM AAL5, Frame Relay, Raw/Transparent data transfers, Monitoring, etc.
• Up to 124 SS7 Low Speed Links, 4 High Speed Links, or 124 media channels. The new product version enables up to 1 Erlang of traffic in each direction of each MTP2 LSL.

Over the past year, the iSPAN 5639L has field-proven that it is a cost-effective and software-rich COTS building block for a wide range of Wireless, VoIP, and IMS infrastructure signaling nodes and monitoring services, and for media termination and switching in host-based media processing applications.

Using its high-performance PCI Express (PCIe) interface to a host processor, the iSPAN 5639L enables rapid exchange of payload information, making it ideal for a broad spectrum of signaling applications such as signaling gateways, wireless network control elements, and media servers/gateways. With its high-impedance line interfaces and monitoring software, the iSPAN 5639L is also the perfect solution for SS7 monitoring services applications.

This is the latest addition to the Interphase portfolio of best-in-class intelligent communication controllers, which includes COTS designs in most standard form-factors to meet your immediate design needs. The iSPAN 5639L is designed to provide intelligent network interfaces for application platforms that need to connect to TDM/ATM networks. It features the powerful Freescale™ PowerQUICC III™ processor, includes FPGA support for TDM switching, now provides Linux x86, Solaris x86 and Solaris SPARC support, and comes with a reliable and field-proven iWARE® Software Development Suite (SDS), including on-board support for multiple network protocols and protocol interworking and pre-integration with several 3rd-party higher layer protocol offerings.
