1394 Trade Association Publishes New Article on the Benefits of PCIe with IEEE 1394 – FireWire

– Using PCIe with 1394b Increases Bandwidth, Efficiency, Error Immunity and Power Requirements, among Others –

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The 1394 Trade Association has published a new technical article that reports on the benefits of PCI Express, or PCIe, when used in conjunction with FireWire.

Entitled “The Benefits of FireWire on PCI Express” and authored by Dave Thompson of LSI Corp., the article reviews and explains the many features of PCI Express that can be taken advantage of by FireWire to provide maximum performance for the consumer. These include increased bandwidth, reduced board footprint, improved power management, increased error immunity, more efficient performance, and support for a long list of feature enhancements.
