The OCTEON Plus family of Multi-core MIPS64 Storage Services Processors targets intelligent storage processing requirements in low to high-end storage switches, arrays, appliances, and servers. The family includes fourteen software- compatible processors, with two to twelve cnMIPS64 cores at up to 900 MHz speed on a single chip that integrate high-density, high-bandwidth standard interfaces along with the most advanced storage RAID, security, and storage application acceleration.

Cavium Networks provides a feature rich software development kit with 12-way SMP Linux 2.6, GNU Toolchain, debugger tools, RAID acceleration APIs and production ready software toolkits for a range of storage protocols. OCTEON Plus has a rich ecosystem of hardware, vendors building off-the-shelf appliances and intelligent accelerator cards. OCTEON Plus’ software ecosystem includes standard operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks from Wind River, OSE from ENEA and other popular RTOSs. In addition, standard protocol toolkits for IP, IPsec, TCP and SSL optimized for OCTEON Plus are available along with standard applications for Anti-Virus scanning, IDS/IPS and Storage.
