RowGen is a high-volume generator of intelligent test data that reduces the risk, effort, guesswork, and costs involved in complex test data synthesis. Designed with DBAs, programmers, ETL architects, and compliance teams in mind, RowGen provides an easier way to generate test data for database population, application stress-testing, format sharing (outsourcing), and benchmarking.

RowGen synthesizes test records and files using both randomly generated values, and randomly selected field data from ‘set’ files. By creating safe test data along with an audit trail, RowGen can help you achieve and verify compliance with data privacy regulations.

RowGen preserves the primary/foreign key relationships in your data models, and leverages the metadata you have already defined for any number of application formats. RowGen also uses metadata repositories so you can share and re-use test data layouts and job specifications.

Beyond the metadata from different data models, RowGen can leverage the metadata you have in CSV and ELF files, Oracle SQL*Loader control scripts, and COBOL copybooks, as well as the data layouts, job scripts, transformation functions, and custom formatting features of CoSort’s SortCL program.

Finally, RowGen metadata is supported by the Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB) from MITI so that you can use the metadata from design tools, databases, ETL tools and OLAP/BI tools from many different vendors.
