EMAC INTRODUCES A RUGGED SERVER IN BOX (SIB) RUNNING WINDOW XP EMBEDDED

Carbondale, Illinois, November 13, 2006 – EMAC, Inc., announces the EMAC XP Server-In-a-Box (SIB), an embedded server that is capable of running virtually any Windows XP application program. Windows XP Embedded is the componentized version of the leading desktop operating system, enabling rapid development of the most reliable and full-featured connected devices. Based on the same binaries as Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Embedded enables embedded developers to individually select only the rich features they need for customized, reduced-footprint embedded devices. This operating system is very well suited for applications requiring a Graphic User Interface (GUI).
The Rugged SIB is specially designed to live in harsh environments. No Fans, no Hard Drive, and a completely sealed case (with exception of Compact Flash access) allows the Rugged SIB to survive where other computers can’t. The Rugged SIB is just as comfortable in a basement wiring closet as it is on a desktop. For more information, please visit our website at: http://www.emacinc.com/rugged_xpe_sib.
