Paravirtual Corporation announces availability of its 2.1 release

Paravirtual Studio 2.1 is now available. Among many new features is the support of WindRiver’s VxWorks 6.0.

Paravirtual Studio is a virtual software platform that runs on Linux or Windows desktops. It is designed for engineers who require the ability to create, debug, and test complex embedded software systems and multiple interconnected systems incorporating off-the-shelf semiconductors and embedded operating systems such as VxWorks, Linux, ThreadX and Nucleus, as well as in-house operating systems and their software—effectively creating a VIRTUAL LAB right on the desktop.

Paravirtual significantly reduces the development cycle of embedded systems projects by enabling concurrent hardware and software development. A major networking company recently adopted Paravirtual Studio to develop the next generation of their high-capacity Ethernet switches. This customer was quickly able to develop Virtual Chip versions of their proprietary ASICs and load and application software onto the Virtual System. By using Paravirtual Studio during their entire software development cycle, they were able to shave off almost one year while saving millions of dollars in hardware costs.
